Quality Education Goal

What is the quality education goal?

(ec.europa.eu. n.d.).
This goal assures that all girls and boys complete free primary and secondary school by 2030. It also aspires to give equitable access to cheap vocational training and to reduce gender and income inequality in order to achieve universal access to quality higher education. (“Goal 4: Quality Education,” 2021)

Why is the quality education goal important?

1-It enables people to escape the cycle of poverty.

2-It aids in the reduction of inequities and the attainment of gender equality.

3-It enables people to live a healthier and more sustainable life.

4-It is critical in fostering tolerance and a peaceful society.

Some Statistics:

The proportion of students finishing lower secondary school increased in Sub-Saharan Africa from 23% in 1990 to 42% in 2014 but remains low when compared to a global ratio of 75%. Increased school attendance results in more empowered citizens and a more productive labor force.

The number of literate or illiterate persons is frequently reliant on self-reported data, and different countries use varying lengths of school attendance or levels of completion to declare a person literate. According to the most recent available data, roughly 85 percent of the world's adults are literate. However, achievement levels and rates vary by region and age group.   ("Data | The World Bank," 2017)

Adult and youth literacy rates increased in all regions between 2000 and 2010
